  • Sue Englander a native of Rochester, NY, founded EEI Manufacturing Services in 1993 after a successful eighteen year career in electronics distribution. Her expertise and product knowledge have helped her forge solid business relationships with Department Of Defense Prime Contractors and Federal Government Agencies. These relationships have endured and grown for more than thirty years.

This proven record of accomplishment demonstrates how Sue was able to grow EEI from two employees operating in a 300 square foot plant with gross sales of $700,000 to today’s vibrant company which boasts a re-modeled 18,400 square foot plant and sales in excess of $6,000,000.

EEI's success is directly attributable to the strategic position in which Sue has placed her company. Sue did her homework and obtained economic incentives through Federal certifications that designated EEI as a small, 8(a) Disadvantaged, woman owned business, as well as from the facility being located in a Brownfield. Today, EEI is positioned as a leader in the manufacturing of defense electronics supporting our War Fighters.

The strategy is working not only for EEI but for the local community as well. Her Company training programs have yielded greater economic opportunity for EEI employees. This underscores Sue Englander’s business philosophy that relationships are key and people are primary. The company continues to be guided by her own principles: credibility, quality and value.

Sue and EEI have received recognition for their efforts both locally and nationally.

  • I started my career at Sperry Corp. in 1979 after earning a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. I worked for seven years in test engineering when an opportunity became available to fill a position in subcontract management. In 1986 Burrow’s Corp. purchased Sperry which became Unysis. Our location was sold to Hercules, Inc. In 1995 Alliant Techsystems, Inc. who had spun off from Honeywell in 1991, purchased Hercules Aerospace which included our location in Clearwater. Although I’ve worked under many different corporate names, I’ve been in the same location for 30 years. During my years of service I’ve filled many positions including Small Business Liaison Officer, Purchasing Manager and most recently Supply Chain Manager.

Alliant Techsystems (ATK) is a leading manufacturer of Defense and Aerospace articles. ATK employs over 17,000 employees in 21 states and has over four billion dollars in sales per year. Please visit our web site, www.atk.com, for additional information.
